Parenting Sites

Apropos of my article in the 4/1/07 Philadelphia Inquirer, here are a few cool parenting sites to check out:

Babble
Hip community and real writing

Dancing Meatballs
Philadelphia-area events for kids and their parents

Alt Dot Life
For the independent woman's well-rounded life

Parent blogs:
Sweet Juniper
Metrodad
CityMama
Dooce
Suburban Bliss

I prefer daddy blogs because they tend to be less competitive. Parenthood is not a competition, people.

Also mentioned:

Indiebride
For independent women who are getting married

Not mentioned:

The Trixie Update, a blog tracking all of the milk drunk by, pumped for, and processed through a little girl named Trixie over the course of her first year. Trixie's dad tracked every single bottle, nap, and diaper. The numbers are astounding. Then, he developed a software program so that other parents can also obsessively track their child's input and output. Nice.

Quilts by Mara, handmade baby quilts and big quilts and more. I have two of the baby quilts, they're great for everything from swaddling to cuddling to covering the rug so the baby doesn't spit up on it. Love 'em. If you haven't checked out Etsy yet, do so-- it's a site with tons of handmade crafts and goodies.
